It's not unusual to find in these small towns a wagon load of pumpkins, squash and gourds like this for sale with no one keeping watch. You're on the honor system. There's a sign posted with the prices listed and you take the items you want and drop the money into a coffee can with a lid with a slot in it. You're trusted to pay for your items as well as everyone is trusted to not take the lid off and steal what money is in the can!
