I love finding new places and this wonderful restaurant called The Family Market in Eleva, Wisconsin, is no exception! What a delightful place, with a terrific choice of wines, homemade foods, and excellent gift shop. I can't begin to enumerate all the treasures I discovered while having lunch in this "find". But one was the fireplace. Hidden in among the stonework was this wizened face carved from wood. Was he wizard, wise man, or a god of the forest? No matter who he was, he was trapped here forever in with the stones of the fireplace, his face becoming blackened with the soot. I fell in love with him and couldn't take my eyes off of him the entire time I ate.
