Description
Had to go to my own garden for this one. I love old fashioned flowers. Lilacs hands down are my favorites, but pansies rank right up there. the small little flowers with their funny little faces are a definite fave with me.
Pansy called the heartsease or Johnny Jump Up (merriment thoughtfulness)
The name pansy is from the French word pense meaning thought, named so because the flower resembles a human face. Each year in August, as though it is in deep thought, the pansy nods. During the Victorian Era, was used to convey, "Think of me when this you see." as a sentiment and was embroidered and found on many items sent as gifts and cards.
