Nice capture. I like the blue water with ripples and bits of grass poking out.

Artist's Description

These two ducks seem to be finding good things to eat as they didn't come up for air for quite a while!

Mallard Duck:
The mallard (/ˈmlɑrd/ or /ˈmlərd/) or wild duck (Anas platyrhynchos) is a dabbling duck which breeds throughout the temperate and subtropical Americas, Europe, Asia, and North Africa, and has been introduced to New Zealand, Australia, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, the Falkland Islands and South Africa. This duck belongs to the subfamily Anatinae of the waterfowl family Anatidae.

The male birds (drakes) have a glossy green head and are grey on wings and belly, while the females have mainly brown-speckled plumage. Both genders have an area of white-bordered black speculum feathers which commonly also include irridescent blue feathers especially among males. Mallards live in wetlands, eat water plants and small animals, and are social animals preferring to congregate in groups or flocks of varying sizes....

About Wild Thing

Wild Thing

My Celtic beliefs and heritage have taught me that no matter how large or how small, living or inanimate, everything embodies energy from the universe ... I try to capture that in my photos... I look for the extraordinary in the every day ordinary that surrounds us ... Join me as I wander over back roads, through mist filled swamps and fields, moon filled nights, and sunny days to find my treasures to share with you ... sit quietly ... listen carefully ... and consider these things ... To begin 2017, I am offering 5 prints of my signature piece that I normally do not sell. "A Witches Moon" is now available for a limited time ... please check out my promotional page for more details here: ...
