We can only hope Denise ... some days I despair when I see those who espouse the teaching of the man they follow who was nothing but love & light but practice such hatred towards others at times. It really frightens me. In my opinion, it doesn't matter what path we walk, as long as it takes us all to the same light. I find no comfort in belittling another person's faith nor was I taught to do so. There is no right way ... ;)))

And I think you are exactly right Denise ... when we stop being curious, we stop learning & growing. We become stunted and we do limit ourselves. I think you put that beautifully. The more we know, the greater our understanding of this life on this plane thereby preparing us for the life on the next plane. I feel bad for those who think they have all the answers already. I feel like they miss out on all the wonders our world has to offer.

Absolutely. As I was telling Denise, they had no other choice & it was expedient for them to do so. And also, as I said, I only know what I was taught, that which has been handed down through the generations of family. Which much of does not appear on the internet. Much of what I see, I consider "new" interpretations and archaeologists/anthropologists will not commit to interpreting any of the ancient signs/symbols out of I don't know fear/reprisal/loss of funding? Who's to say for sure. And as you say, all across the world, the cultures mix their beliefs within the Christianity framework in such interesting ways. The Romanian culture of the crosses by the crossroads being one of them. It would be interesting to investigate that further back in history to see if there is a significance to this ritual that predates Christianity. I would hazard a guess that there is. What I know of crossroads and their pagan beliefs of them is not enough to say much about it, but I do know that there may be a significant reason to it predating Christianity and that it got absorbed along with other charming little rituals in that area.

Yes Denise ... that is exactly what they did ... had to do to grow as a religion world wide. I am lucky. What this cross means to me has been passed down to me through my family for generations. So as to what is written on the internet is mostly new to me as well. I know what I was taught as a child. What I was also taught was that the path I walk was one of constant learning because only then can one truly be enlightened. But, that doesn't mean I will ever have all the answers. The influences were bound to happen, even meant to happen. In a hundred years, I wonder what they will be?
